Changes in terms of service in “Karabakh Telecom” network

Viva-MTS informs that from 1 July 2022, in the network of “Karabakh Telecom” CJSC Viva-MTS services will be available exclusively within the framework of roaming, and new roaming tariffs in the network of “Karabakh Telecom” CJSC will apply for Viva-MTS subscribers. These changes are due to the requirements of international standards, according to which, in areas where the operator does not have a mobile communication network, mobile communication services must be provided in cooperation with licensed operators operating in these areas (roaming).

As you know, before the 44-day war of 2020 in Artsakh, communication services were exclusively provided by “Karabakh Telecom” CJSC, and subscribers of all Armenian operators used roaming services in Artsakh. As a consequence of the war, the infrastructure of “Karabakh Telecom” CJSC was severely damaged; due to the emerged humanitarian catastrophe, the provision of reliable mobile communications in Artsakh had become an issue that needed to be addressed immediately. In the first days of the war, Viva-MTS was the first Armenian operator to apply zero tariffs for roaming in Artsakh. Then, on the basis of numerous applications, guided by the need to support the solution of humanitarian problems, Viva-MTS temporarily installed infrastructure in Artsakh.

At present, when the infrastructure of “Karabakh Telecom” CJSC has already been restored, and from 1 July 2022, Viva-MTS infrastructures will no longer operate in Artsakh, Viva-MTS, like other Armenian operators, is to provide mobile communication services to its subscribers in Artsakh exclusively within the framework of inter-operator relations between Armenian companies and “Karabakh Telecom” CJSC, in accordance with the legislation in the field of telecommunications.

From 1 July 2022, the following tariffs will apply in roaming in the “Karabakh Telecom” network:

As before, the tariff per minute to networks in other countries will make AMD 800, 1 MB will be 15 AMD, and the minute of outgoing call to satellite networks will be AMD 2000.
